Well I have come to a conclusion. 3 years ago I said that when rovers got relegated it would take at least 5 years for us to get promoted again. My views still stand. With Rovers having ended their 3rd consecutive season in the championship I still don't believe that we are coming any closer to getting back into the big time. Our first season in the championship did not go as we had planned! another manager sacking and the beginning of a very big downward spiral for the club. That season we only finished 4 points of from the relegation zone which is not where we want to be! The next season we got very close! only 1 point off getting into the play-offs. Yet again our lacklustre defence had let us down. And finally this season just gone finishing 9th and 12 points off any promotion hopes.
Now next season I believe is going to be one of the hardest seasons in the championship that we have ever had. With the club only being able to sign loans or free transfers who must be on a max of £10,000 a week its unlikely that we are going to bring in any stars. Plus with our all of our main strikers being linked with moves elsewhere who knows what team we are going to have by next year. Now I can see what bowyer is doing, he's brought in a load of ex-academy players Cairney, Evans and others like Alan judge and Chris Taylor. This for the purposes of development and I understand that its a good tactic but if next season we don't at least make the play-offs I think we are going to need a change in command. Bowyer is just to scared and the tactics that he uses show that .He doesn't want to lose games but that means he isn't brave enough to put out an attacking team and this is why Blackburn have draw more games than other team over the past three years! with an overall record of 47wins 46 draws and 41 loses. What this shows is that we need to change our strategy in a game and I don't believe Bowyer has the guts to do that!
