Yesterday was horrible. I have never felt so disappointed by the manager and the team. 4 years in a row have we gone into the captal one cup against a lower league opposition and been defeated. Now at first I never thought a team would ever go into a game wanting to lose. I completely refused that idea. But now I'm starting to think it's true. Here is why I have changed my mind...
1) every single Blackburn fan can agree that Chris Brown is abysmal and a waste of wages. So if we fans of the game can see this why can't the professionals? Either Chris Brown is one of the most hard working players in training or Gary knew there was very little chance of him scoring and selected him on purpose knowing that he wouldn't. I think I speak for most fans when I say I would have started Koita. A new signing who needs to start and get game time. From his contribution to team when he has come on I would be amazed if he doesn't start next game. As I genuinely believe he has the skill got score a shed load of goals. Anyway this was the perfect game for him to start and yet for some reason Chris Brown beat him to it. Also yes I am not proud or happy to be one of the fans who cheered when he got subbed off. I'm not. No player deserves that kind of treatment but it proves that people are not happy to see him playing.
2) The deffence that he selected was a ticking time bomb! Nyambe looks good...as a winger. He lacks a lot of defencive qualities. His first touch isn't good enough and his passing/ decision making is well...Shrewsburys first goal sums that up. Lenihan last season looked good and yesterday he just didn't. Maybe it's lack of match fitness or maybe he's not well moulded with killgallon as a defensive pair, but if the answer is that he's getting game time then why isn't Koita? As for the other two Killgallon just had a bad game as did Spurr.
I believe that all of our new signings should have started yesterday but for those who did (Delfouneso) scored a goal and I'm thrilled for him. It's taken him less time to score than it gestede. Not that it means anything but we need some positives. Also Koita when he came on for the second game in a row looked... Well brilliant I really hope he starts against Huddersfield and we will win that game!
At the bottom are some of the fans reactions to the loss.
