At about 13:30 on the 26/08/16 Blackburn announced the signings of CB Tommie Hoban and LB Derrick Williams:
Tommie Hoban:
Position: CB
Age: 22
Nationality: English
Goals: 2
Total number of appearances: 61
Hoban didn’t get many chances last season with Watford being in the Premier league but the season before Hoban made 27 appearances and in 2012/13 Hoban was given Watford’s young player of the season.
There isn’t really much to say about Hoban as at only 22 he has never played a full season at a club other than Watford and is seen as a hot prospect by most Watford fans, weather he can fill in for the absence of Duffy and Hanley remains to be seen. But he is only on loan and will most likely leave at the end of the season.
Derrick Williams:
Position: LB
Age: 23
Nationality: German
Goals: 4
Total number of appearances: 112
Now this is a difficult one, as many fans are not impressed at the fact that he is the only player that we have spent money on this season, he made 24 appearances for Bristol last season. Williams is a wing back who likes to get forward creating 15 chances last season compared to Adam Henley's 10. Williams has received a much higher performance rating than Henley. A lot of fans seem to be forgetting that Williams is going to be filling a hole that has been relatively poor ever since the loss of Marcus Olsson so we should not judge until we see he play.
