Blackburn have today announced the signing of Hope Akpan who becomes Rovers' 5th signing of the window. But who is he an can he succeed with us?

Height: 6ft
Hope was born in Liverpool but still represents Nigeria at international. He started his footballer career Everton in the Youth academy. He made his competitive debut for Everton in the Europa league against BATE in 2009. Two years later he made a loan move to Hull city for 3 months only appearing twice.
For the start of the 2011/12 season Akpan made a free transfer to Crawley town. He went on to make 47 appearances for the club and scored 5. In 2013 made a transfer that took him up 3 leagues and signed for then premier league team Reading. Over the next two seasons he made 58 appearances for Reading only scoring once.
Akpan is fast, skilful and creative. Also like most of Blackburn's signings this season he is young and still has potential to fill. Reading fans have a lot of mixed emotions about Akpan and his ability but we will have to find our ourselves.
