After what's been an...eventful day lets turn are heads away from players leaving to players joining. Jeffory Sarpong is the latest Trialist to join Blackburn and will start for the first team in 3 mins time against Tranmere. But who is he?
Full name: Jeffrey Nana Darko Sarpong.
Nationality: Dutch
Age: 26
Height: 5 ft 9in
Position: attacking midfielder
Sarpong started his youth career at the famous Ajax training facility in 1995. He only broke into the first team in 2006. In 2006 it was made public that Chelsea were interested in signing the player but Sarpong made it clear that he wanted to stay at Ajax. Sarpong went on to make 20 appearances for the club over next 4 years having battled with injuries and constantly falling in and out of favour with the managers at the time. So in 2010 he was put out to loan to Dutch team NEC where he made 15 appearances for the team and eventually signed him up permanently. He spell didn't last long as later that same year Spanish team Real sociedad. Again a injury filled spell ment a constant in and out spell in the first team and he only made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals. During his time he again was loaned out twice more to NAC Breda and Hércules. But in 2013 he terminated his contract with Real. But he wasn't without action for long as his ex-loan club NAC Breda snapped Sarpong up. This was where he had his most successful time as he spent two seasons there and made 58 appearances scoring 4 times and assisting many. Sarpong was also part of his country's under 21's on ten occasions and scored just the once.
Sarpong would be a very interesting signing and may add a whole different dimension to the teams style of play. Would I have him? Off his history why not?
